Welcome to Nigel Waters Art, where I am thrilled to share my passion for painting with you. Based in Exeter, my work is deeply inspired by the breathtaking landscapes and seascapes of the South West coast. Whether I'm taking a leisurely stroll along the coastal path or immersing myself in the elements while painting en plein air, I draw immense inspiration from every facet of our stunning environment. My artistic journey is characterised by a fusion of vibrant colours and forms, capturing the essence of our ever-changing scenery. Each brushstroke reflects my love for the dynamic interplay of light and shadow that defines my surroundings.
I specialise in creating semi-abstract seascapes and landscapes that are designed to evoke emotion and intrigue. Influenced by Fauvism and Abstract Expressionism, my work embodies a unique blend of spontaneity and intention. Each piece I produce is a testament to my experiences with the landscape, aiming to portray not just what I see, but how it feels to be enveloped by nature.
